The Itinerary
Day 1 (3km)– Your journey begins with a shuttle drop-off at the majestic Magwa Falls, the second-highest waterfall in South Africa. After soaking up the breathtaking views, enjoy a short, scenic village walk to your accommodation. Settle in for the night at the paradise of Louis Eco Lodge, your welcoming base for the first evening.
Day 2 (12km)– This is the exclusive MbotyiOnline day. Trek down the dramatic escarpment, forging a path through untouched rainforest and coastal bushveld where only cattle roam. Weaving down the valley and crossing rivers, you will emerge on the banks of the beautiful Manteku River. A short boat ride takes you to the river mouth, where you’ll spend the night in a beautiful cottage with magnificent estuary views—the perfect spot for an evening sundowner.
Day 3 (12km)– A lighter hiking day featuring rolling coastal terrain. Today is all about relaxation and discovery as you reach the Wild Coast’s most pristine beaches. Enjoy the tranquility and dive in for a swim or two at these beautiful, completely secluded spots.
Day 4 (Rest)– Today is your flexible day to recharge or explore!
Option 1: Rest Day Enjoy a well-deserved rest day to kick back and soak up the magic. Have a slow, peaceful morning—lounge on the beach, try some fishing, or just savor the views. After lunch, a shuttle will take you north to Grosvenor, where you’ll spend the night at the comfortable Lambazi Lodge.
Option 2: Optional Hike (15km) For the avid hikers who want to see more, swap your rest day for a rewarding 15km trek. Your shuttle will drop you at Msikaba, and you will hike the beautiful section down to Lambazi Lodge.
Day 5 (28km)– This must-do hike is the grand finale of your journey! Following coastal cattle paths, you will pass the iconic landmarks that define the Wild Coast: Waterfall Bluff and Cathedral Rock. After traversing the stunning Drewe’s beach, you complete your adventure back in Mbotyi. A well-deserved cold beer awaits!
Day 6 (Departure)– Enjoy a final, leisurely breakfast at Mbotyi. Following this, we arrange an early morning departure via your pre-arranged shuttle or personal vehicle, ensuring a smooth and timely transfer back to your desired location or onward travel hub.
