About me

My Journey from Chartered Accountant to Conservationist

I’ve always been an outdoors-focused person with a deep passion for hiking, fishing, and conservation. Contrary to this, I studied accounting at the University of Cape Town (UCT) and became a qualified Chartered Accountant. This professional background has given me the skills to ensure our venture is financially sustainable, but my heart has always belonged to the wild.

The Wild Coast Called Me Home

The Wild Coast has always been a special place for me; I’ve spent countless family holidays here since I was a child. My connection deepened during the Covid-19 pandemic, when I was able to spend an entire year living at Mbotyi. It was during that time that I realised my personal responsibility: I had to take concrete steps to protect the Wild Coast and improve the lives of its communities.

Launching MbotyiOnline

I spent that year in deep discussion with my co-founders, exploring the future of this beautiful coastline. It was through these conversations that we decided to launch MbotyiOnline. Our purpose is clear: to use eco-tourism as the most powerful and sustainable way to conserve the area that we all love. I am passionate about preserving the wild places of Africa and ensuring their beauty and integrity endure for future generations.
